Olive oil, to be specific. The Texas Hill Country is rapidly expanding with commerce and agricultural products as Austinites explore their communities and find new ventures. We decided to plant olives 10 years ago (2010) as a hobby out on some of our family land. Low and behold, 10 years later we have more olives and more oil than we know what to do with! Hill country soil is not exactly the most fertile. It's mostly limestone. But so is the Spaniard mountain side. where these olive trees natively grow. How cool that we can grow the same tree across the world! We're excited to expand our horizons and make new friends as Austin Olive Company starts to take root and grow, just like those trees did 10 years ago.
